A PASTORAL ODE.
(To the tune of the Black Sloven.)
As I was a walking to draw the fresh air,
Alexo, a talking, I chanced to hear;
And, as he sat, o're-shadow'd with willows, he thus did
complain:
O charming young Daphne, thy cruel disdain,
Has pierced my heart with most exquisite pain.
Oh, how could you deceive me?
How would me, and leave me to languish?
